Move Open Day

On the 22nd of February, the Move team hosted a Move Open Day at Willow Dene, which invited practitioners from across London, who are about to embark on their Move journey, to see all the wonderful practice that we do as a centre of excellence.

It was a fantastic opportunity to showcase all the wonderful work the children and staff do with Move across the school. The visitors were amazed at how many Move activities we achieve across the school day.  We have already had some visitors asking for a second visit and to spend some time shadowing our Move Team.

In addition to the visitors from schools across London, we also had three exhibitors showing some of the equipment that they have to assist movement and positioning. We welcomed demonstrations from Jiraffe, Moorings Mediquip and VidaGlobal, who all spoke of how their equipment and the Move Programme can work together.

As a Move centre of excellence, we are very proud to be able to guide and assist other schools as they start their Move journey.

The Move team would also like to thank JubyLee Bakes who provided the wonderful tray bakes for the day. They were delicious and everyone commented how wonderful they were. JubyLee Bakes is a bakery business that is run by a group of young special needs entrepreneurs that created worthwhile jobs for life.  For more details about JubyLee please follow this link:
